Moving Along in the Journey

At the end of 2010, I finished my Christian Writers Guild (CWG) Apprentice Course. You can read more about that experience here. Only a few short week later, we discovered that our baby was on the way, and my writing life came to an abrupt halt. Finally, a year and a half later, I'm ready and able to put some serious time and energy into my writing again.

My 18 months of "maternity leave" has taken a toll on my confidence level. What if I can't write any more? What if I don't have it in me? Why would anyone want to read what I have to say? These self-doubts are not helping me move forward. And so, I knew it was time to just jump in with both feet and sign up for the next CWG writing course.

My Journeyman course is in the mail, and just the act of signing up has opened the floodgates of creativity. I'm back on the track that God has planned for me, and that is so freeing.

    1. I'm sure that there will be several posts dedicated to what I'm learning in the course. You'll have to keep us updated on that precious baby God has entrusted to you. (((hugs))) Motherhood is an amazing adventure.

  3. I know what you mean about the confidence level after taking a hiatus because of new motherhood. I still haven't quite found it yet. It's been months since I've updated my blog and trying to work on my book has been a painful process :P I am hoping I can get back into it eventually.

The course sounds interesting. Definitely keep us updated!

    1. Motherhood changes everything, but I wouldn't trade it for all the writing time in the world. Writing is still important, but God and family comes first. I would suggest that you start small. Doing something (even a few paragraphs) is better than not doing anything at all. (I'm preaching to myself here too.)
